Question:
How do I set up the /etc/system file for
Sun Leadville driver
Environment:
Host adapter: Sun X6768A / QLA2342
Environment:
Host adapter: Sun X6767A / QLA2310
Environment:
Driver: Sun Leadville
Environment:
Driver: SAN 4.2
Environment:
OS: Solaris
Environment:
EMC SW: PowerPath
Problem:
PowerPath cannot see devices after
host reboot
Problem:
After rebooting the server, the
devices are
visible in a format, however, a powermt config / powermt restore needs
to be run to bring the devices under PowerPath
control
Change:
Host
reboot
Root Cause:
The /etc/system file has not been properly
setup for the ssd driver.
Fix: Add the
following entries to the /etc/system file to
ensure that the devices are probed on reboot so they are available for
powerpath discovery, do not include the quotes:
'forceload drv/ssd'
'set fcp:ssfcp_enable_auto_configuration=1'
'set ssd:ssd_max_throttle=20'
'set
ssd:ssd_io_time=0x3c'
Notes: The above
settings are required for both qlc driver and
emlxs driver.
